I found heaven in Griffith Observatory
In October 2008, my mother took myself and my friend Macha to the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. To be honest, I’ve never heard of it before that, although now I realize that it has appeared in a lot of movies. So we went up there, no expectations — and I fell in love. No words or photos could ever justify how much I love, love, love this place.
First of all, it is an astronomy observatory, so there’s quite a few galleries to delight the inner geek. Visiting these galleries are free of charge.

It’s apparently called a Foucault Pendulum.
One of my favorite parts of visiting the Griffith Observatory is the show “Centered in the Universe”. For an incredibly small price to pay, (US$ 7.00!) I got the most wonderful experience. The seats were reclining and the show was projected onto the whole dome. It was truly marvelous.
You can also go up to the real, actual telescope.
The cherry on top of the cake? A breathtaking view of Los Angeles. Just dreamy.
